Upanayanam (Poonal) Return Gifts — Q&A

What are good return gifts for an Upanayanam (Poonal) in Chennai?

Gifts that belong in the pooja room work best: brass lotus diyas (about ₹70), five-diya peacock trays (about ₹80), engraved brass pooja plates (about ₹120), brass kumkum boxes (about ₹100) and steel storage boxes. Keep novelty and plastic items for birthdays.

What gift should we give the vadhyar and elders at an Upanayanam?

Along with dakshina, families often give a German silver pooja plate (about ₹350), a filigree pooja basket or a brass item. Choose something better than the general return gift to show respect.

What is a good budget per guest for Upanayanam return gifts?

Most families spend ₹60 to ₹150 per guest family and ₹250 to ₹400 for priests and close elders. Planning two levels keeps the total budget easy to manage.

What is the minimum order for Upanayanam return gifts?

Our wholesale minimum is 50 pieces per design, which suits both small home functions and larger hall events.

How early should we order Upanayanam return gifts?

Order a few days before the ceremony for ready designs, and 7 to 10 working days before if you need custom packing or name printing, or the design is not in stock.
